Ethical Fashion
Choosing Ethical Fashion
Clothing that harms no one. Clothing that helps someone. From Tokyo to the world.
Choosing Ethical Fashion
Ethical fashion considers the impact on people, animals, and the environment at every stage — from production and consumption to disposal. It pursues sustainable choices across labor conditions, animal welfare, environmental footprint, and traceability.
While fast fashion relies on mass production and mass disposal, ethical fashion values garments that are loved for years, maintaining transparency from material selection through the manufacturing process and the story that follows each sale.
Origami Tokyo's Ethical Approach
1. No Animal-Derived Materials
As a brand whose mission is animal welfare, we use absolutely no animal-derived materials such as leather, wool, silk, or down. The Genesis Collection uses only heavyweight cotton.
2. A Portion of Profits Goes to Animal Welfare
We donate 5% of profits (approximately 2% of sales) to animal welfare organizations and zoos. This figure is calculated in real time based on estimated profit margins, and actual donation amounts are disclosed quarterly.
3. Transparency Through NFC Tags
Every product features an NFC tag, allowing buyers to simply tap their phone to see exactly which organization and project their purchase supported. This is ethical fashion made visible.
4. No Sales or Discounts
By maintaining full-price sales, we keep donation amounts stable and preserve the value of each garment. Without seasonal clearance, we minimize inventory waste.
Why Ethical Fashion from Tokyo?
Traditional Japanese aesthetics inherently embrace values like eliminating waste and cherishing things for the long term. Just as origami creates infinite forms from a single sheet of paper, Origami Tokyo weaves a lasting story into every garment.
Reinterpreting Japan's 'mottainai' spirit for a global audience through near-future polygon design and NFC technology — that is our challenge.
